I didn’t apply for the IBB grant right away because I was unsure of my eligibility and if it would negatively affect my future residence permit renewals. I am unsure if I should purchase this guide, based on the current IBB news. I wonder: What is the likelihood more funds will be announced? Should I purchase this guide and prepare my application in the hopes they let new people apply?
The IBB website will not permit new registrations. This is the message on their site (English underneath):
Beantragung beendet
Application ended
The demand for loans under the Corona rescue aid (Emergency Aid Package I) far exceeds expectations. If all applications that were currently being processed by the customer were approved, the volume would be more than EUR 300 million, but only EUR 100 million was made available by the State of Berlin. We are therefore pending acceptance of further applications until further notice in order to discuss further action with the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy, Operations and Finance. The applications received are all processed. On Monday we will deactivate this queue.
GOod morning Liz,
That notification you saw is about Soforthilfe I, not Soforthilfe II (the one you’d be going for). Soforthilfe II is still running and I’m still in the queue.
Applying will not negatively affect your permit, the foreigner’s office announced that clearly on Saturday.
Go for it if you can get into the queue. Soforthilfe II, not I.
I am in a similar situation as Liz and I wanted to ask where I can find the announcement by the foreigners office that you refer to above? I have checked their website and FAQ section and found the announcement re SGB2, but I can’t find the announcement re Soforthilfe 2?
Thanks so much! and in general thanks so much, your site and info have been SUPER helpful.
I wish they would update their FAQs already! A colleague of mine wrote an email to the Landeseinwanderungsamt in Berlin asking if the Soforthilfe II grant had any effect on residence permits. The brief but pertinent reply received from the foreigner’s office was “Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, es hat keine Wirkung auf die Aufenthaltstitel.” That’s it.
Do I have to wait in the queue online to submit the application on ibb.queue-it.net or is there another possibility to sign the application?
If not, how can i coordinate 30 min. of your help with the time I get on the ibb website?
Do I have to show any contracts that I lost or the documents that the performances have been cancelled?
Yes, you do have to wait in a queue, that’s why we created the guide and video for 14.50 EUR instead of our normal Life Admin time.
You don’t have to show any proof of anything at this time, but there might be a possibility that they audit the applications later, after they have paid. In most cases they would probably just ask for your tax return.

Ok great. I will keep looking for the announcement online and if I find it I will post here too.
Thank you SO SO much!
