My New Home

February 13, 2018 by Kathleen Parker Leave a Comment

I have a confession to make. I applied to join the Factory some months ago, and my application was rejected… I sulked for a week. It was probably just bad timing, but the Factory Berlin was never far from my mind. I ran into a few friends who flaunted their coveted memberships and got a hot tip from one of them – I should reapply, as they’ve just opened a brand new building, and the timing is golden.

I sent off a killer application, added a healthy dose of Vitamin B, and within a week, I got the green light!

I’ve been at the Factory for about a month now, and it’s the perfect place for me to be. A breezy 15-minute bike ride from my apartment, the Factory Mitte is chock full of go-getters. Everyone seems laid-back and they’re all just quietly doing something spectacular. If you need a quiet place to retreat with some headphones, there are silent working areas. If you want to get your collaboration pants on and create some synergies, there are nooks and meeting rooms galore.

I got the chance to visit the brand new building at Görlitzer Park, too. Entry involved downloading an app, putting in credentials and turning on my Bluetooth. Yes, the doors actually did turn from red to blue when I approached them. That’s pretty groovy. Where Mitte sometimes lacks space, Görli is an endless oasis of sleek and welcoming rooms and cool collaborative spaces.

I’m happy to be here and happy to be able to offer in-person coachings here as well, most often at Factory Mitte. I just have one request – please don’t just drop by, make an appointment. I’m not there around the clock, when I’m not there, I’m traipsing around the city taking people to their red tape appointments.

Cheers,

Kathleen
