After spending ten years working in Berlin’s varied co-working spaces (Factory, raumstation, Coworking Toddler, CubicMeter, among many others!) Red Tape Translation was ready to find a humble home of our own. Modest though it may be in size, we went all out when it came to colour. Check out the new space!
I decided to work with a talented interior designer based in Pankow – Sneha Mishra from Interior Design and You. She started the process with a test. It was fun! We spent a half hour poring over design photos and she asked me loads of interesting questions about which ones I liked and didn’t, and why. Once we’d finished, she was very confident that she knew what I was looking for. I trusted her completely from the get-go; this was a very good thing. Because the concept she came up with was sensational. See for yourself!
Sneha asked me for my budget and office requirements. She then managed my expectations accordingly, as any good design consultant usually has to do 🙂 Luckily, my expectations were mostly realistic. Less than one week later, she sent me a mood board with mockup designs, a floor plan and a couple of different design options. Once I signed off on the final concept, she sent me detailed lists of everything to purchase: furniture pieces, carpets, paint colours, wallpaper, accessories, plants, wall art, etc., with measurements, photos and links to purchase. Shopping was an absolute breeze.
There are some things that have to be seen – photos and design mockups just won’t do them justice. Sneha encouraged me to get wallpaper and paint samples for just a few Euros and test them out in the actual space in real light conditions. This process ended up influencing our decision on paint colours significantly.
I loved working with Interior Design and You because Sneha was fast, responsive, relaxed and experienced. Nothing phased her. My modest little space and my modest little budget was probably a walk in the park in comparison to the luxury villas, mansions and hotels she designs most of the time, but she was just as committed and passionate about my 20 square metres as she would have been for a high-rise. Sneha specialises in residential interior design, which suited me well because I didn’t want a corporate space, I wanted a comfortable, colourful and welcoming place to spend many of my waking hours.
We then convinced action hero videographer and photographer Robert Loughlin to get off his bike for a moment and do a photo shoot indoors for a change – thanks Rob, for making the place look so spectacular.
Come and visit us sometime!
Wow, this looks really cozy!
Love it! Such a great workspace. Congratulations on the teamwork and the new space! 🙂
